New Specimen Update 5 October 2017

5 October 2017

Hello Everyone,

This week's new specimen update is an excellent selection of minerals from several classic European locations including:

  •  Four complex crystals of Malachite coating Cuprite from the classic locality of Chessy-les-Mines in France.
  •  A very fine specimen of the silver antimonide, Allargentum, from the Schlema-Hartenstein District of Saxony.
  •  A superb Quartz “Phantom” from Sunk in central Austria showing several stages of crystal development.
  •  Lustrous, silky Tetrahedrite crystals to 2 cm, with Chalcopyrite, Calcite and Galena from Zilla in Lower Saxony, Germany.
  •  Crystallised Native Gold from Roşia Montană in Romania, displaying exquisite symmetrically aligned triangular faces of Gold tetrahedra.
  •  A rare copper-lead-antimony sulphosalt, Meneghinite, from its type locality at the Bottino Mine in the Apuan Alps of Italy.
