New Specimen Update 27 July 2018

Hello All,

This weeks update features a fine selection of minerals from classic British localities including:-

  • Dark emerald-green micro-crystals of Chalcosiderite richly line a vuggy Quartz matrix from the type locality at West Phoenix Mine, Cornwall
  • Lustrous cinnamon-brown druses of Siderite crystals totally cover an underlaying matrix of massive Quartz and Schorl, from Carn Brea and Tincroft United Mine, Cornwall
  • A stunning museum quality specimen of Bismuthinite crystals, frequently encrusted with Cassiterite in the form of "Wood Tin", from Fowey Consols Mine, Cornwall
  • A superb small miniture of the classic Cornish mineral Andrewsite: a mixture of Hentschelite and Rockbridgeite, forming small apple-green spheres. Attached is a cluster of lustrous blood-red Cuprite crystals making a superb combination from Phoenix United Mine, Cornwall
  • Beautiful double terminated "Smoky: Quartz crystals on Hematite from the Cleator Moor iron mine in Cumbria, England Many of the smaller transparent, colourless crystals transmit the plum coloured Hematite beneath
  • A stunning museum quality specimen of wonderfully crystallised Olivenite richly draped over large Quartz crystals to 4.5cm from Wheal Unity, Cornwall. The Olivenite forms radial clusters, each emanating from a 1 to 3mm diameter sphere of tan-ochre coloured "Wood Olivenite"

Our Next Show :

Our next major outing is to Denver in September.  This year, as in previous years, Crystal Classics will have two rooms, 225 and 227 for the "Denver Fine Mineral Show"  to be held at the Denver Marriott West Hotel from 12th - 15th September, 2018 and for the first time UK Mining Ventures Ltd will be exhibiting at the Denver Gem & Mineral Show (known as “The Main Show” at the Denver Mart) from 14th - 16th September, 2018.
