New Specimen Update 22 March 2019

21 March 2019

This week we have a choice selection of high quality specimens from worldwide localities:

  • A stunningly beautiful miniature of various colours and habits of Vanadinite crystals delicately perched on tall narrow Goethite stalactites. A wonderful specimen from Taouz in Er Rachida Province, Morocco
  • A beautifully coloured part-crystal of Tourmaline with a fully intact and near-perfect termination from Maharitra in the Sahatany Pegmatite Field of Antananarivo, Madagascar. The crystal grades from pale candy-pink through colourless-greyish green to a glassy vibrant lime-green termination and is filled with stunning reflections from internal flaws
  • Two magnificent, highly lustrous Anglesite crystals lie flat against the top surface of a massive Galena matrix. The translucent Anglesite crystals grade from creamy-grey to pale zingy lemon with a citrus apple-green hue. A splendid group of Anglesite crystals from the Touissit mining district in the Jerada Province of Morocco
  • A classic salmon pink intergrown crystal specimen of Serandite from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Canada, with a central prismatic crystal measuring to 3.3cm
  • A rich druse of lustrous sparkling Libethenite micro-crystals cover most of a cavity and a stalactite of banded green Pseudomalachite. These are developed over previous layers of pale blue Chrysocolla and light green Malachite. A fine specimen from the Kolwezi copper mining area in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
  • A fabulous vivid fuchsia-pink bed of nicely crystallised Cobaltoan Calcite from the Mashamba West mine in the Kolwezi district of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Cobaltoan Calcite forms a 0.5 to 2cm thick crust of intergrown crystals and shows colour zoning around the sides of the specimen, changing from flesh-pink through to mild candy-pink to a 5mm thick cap of shocking fuchsia-pink.
