New Halloween Update 30 October 2020

30 October 2020

The midnight cry of owls across Somerset fields heavy in mist and bats silhouetted against a full East Coker moon herald Halloween is almost upon us. The spines of the Crystal Classics team are already tingling with terrifying anticipation as today is Fiendish Friday and we have an eerie crypt bristling with Malevolent Minerals and Spooktacular Specimens (fear not! I’m running out of diabolical puns and awful alliteration!).

Pluck-up courage to wander through our haunted mines and deserted ghost towns, but let me warn you, mineralogical treats lurk in every corner and shadowy-stope, waiting to grab and possess you for evermore!!!

Let us begin with a beautiful fire Opal from Červenica in Slovakia. Never was a specimen more ethereal, casting a ghostly blue-white light and emitting a bewitching display of spectral orange and fiery-red.

Admire the Gothic splendour of sword-like crystals of lustrous metallic, steel-grey Stibnite from Romania, a specimen reminiscent of The Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.

From the granitic pegmatites of Shengus in Pakistan we offer an enchanting crystal of deep pink Väyrynenite and, for its species, of a size quite fangtastic (I still have a few left!).

And from La Morita mine in Mexico, a gorgeous Wulfenite with Mimetite in deep and rich shades of pumpkin-orange.

Skeletal crystals of dastardly-good Dyscrasite sitting on demonic-black Native Arsenic from Příbram will raise your spirits high, while a wraith-like Aragonite will send shivers of delight from Slovakia. The phantom outline of long since departed Azurite crystals linger-on in Malachite pseudomorphs from Tsumeb, capping a grotto of goblin-green Olivenite.

Crystal Classics’ very own Wolfie Hound is already pawing the door and baying at the Moon, ready for a night of tricking the villagers into giving him tasty treats! We hope you too will be howling with delight should you chance upon that specimen which has for so long remained ephemeral.

Here is what you have to look forward to in next week's updates:
