A very rich specimen of Amalgam from the Clara Mine, Germany, as the variety Arquerite (containing up to 13% Mercury). The Amalgam forms prominent rounded globular forms to 0.7cm with a silvery to slightly coppery patina, associated with translucent brownish Sphalerite. Tiny micro crystals of translucent brown Corkite/Segnitite are apparent under magnification on the Amalgam. The matrix is a white hackly Quartz. A great example of Amalgam from the Clara Mine.
