Very characteristic intergrown crystals of Andradite crystals from the Monteneve Mine, Passiria Valley, Italy, reputed to have been first worked in the 13th century. Crystals of Andradite measure to 1.3cm with well-formed octahedron - trapezohedron faces, faintly striated. With great lustre and deep red-brown colour on a sub-metallic grey-black Mn oxide matrix. A well-developed Andradite Garnet crystal specimen from the mine.
