Apophyllite

ID: CC3889

Beautifully formed sharp inter grown crystals of Apophyllite from the Deccan Flood Basalts Ahmadnagar District, India. Lustrous crystals of Apophyllite display extensive development of the prism and pinacoid faces, with some edge pyramid formation. A central translucent 'tabular' zone of green Apophyllite is over grown by  colourless-white Apophyllite. Also here and there are bladed crystals of whitish Stilbite in association. A pleasing specimen from the Michael Cooper collection
