Aragonite on Dolomite

ID: CC3520

A fascinating inter growth of two Aragonite crystal forms on Dolomite, from the Boldut Mine, Romania. The two inter-grown Aragonite crystal clusters have an almost organic mollusk and echinoidea like appearance, measuring to 4.3cm. Having spiky crystal terminations, great lustre and a translucent light creamy colour. Light biscuit coloured rhombic crystals of Dolomite are richly inter-grown over crystals of Chalcopyrite on Quartz. A fine specimen display composition from the Mine
