Aragonite Var Tarnowitzite

ID: CC1606

An impressive example of this rare Lead rich variety of Aragonite with associated minor Mimetite. The Aragonite has crystallised as vitreous doubly terminating hexagonal crystals to 16mm in length. The crystals have translucent brown coloured cores and are bright opaque white at the prism terminations. The Mimetite is a minor associate with small gemmy crystals to 2mm. The specimen has a hollow layered core, which adds another degree of interest. The specimen is in excellent condition from all angles.
