A rare specimen of Argentite from the ancient Silver mining area of Sarrabus, Sardinia, Italy. Silver rich orebodies are believed to have been known from about 3000 BC. The Argentite specimen we have to offer displays six well formed cubic crystals measuring to 0.5cm, with octahedral corner modifications. The metallic grey crystals of Argentite are pleasingly set across the central area of the specimen on a contrasting white Baryte matrix. The underside of the specimen shows metallic grey Argentite intermixed with an undefined Ruby Silver in a dendritic form laced through a creamy matrix. A well presented specimen from a seldom seen location.
