A classic specimen of Arsentsumebite psuedomorph/epimorph after Mimetite, with Azurite from the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. Crystals of Mimetite have been replaced by the rare bright green mineral Arsentsumebite. On closer examination of the specimen the Mimetite crystals are seen to be in various stages of alteration to Arsentsumebite, from those with remaining central core of Mimetite, to epimorphs and finally to complete replacement pseudomorphs. Bright royal blue bladed crystals of Azurite measuring to 0.8cm are abundantly inter grown with the psuedomorphs/epimorphs. The reverse of the specimen is coated in a thick layer of Arsentsumebite measuring to 1cm in places. A choice specimen from the Tsumeb Mine.
