A double Azurite Lips and Sun specimen, from the Malbunka Copper mine, Australia. The Azurite has the very pronounced Lip or Zulu warrior shield-like habit measuring to 3.6cm, with a raised ridge running the length of the crystal, with a disc of Azurite measuring to 1.6cm. A pleasant royal blue colour is very apparent. This form of Lip Azurite is of rare occurrence from the location. An excellent article can be read in the Rocks & Minerals Nov/Dec 2012 Vol. 87, No.6. magazine issue.
