Azurite on Malachite

The specimen displays excellent clusters of inter grown bladed Azurite crystals measuring to 1.8cm. The Azurite crystals have great luster and a deep royal blue colour. The matrix is composed of a mixture of black to rust-brown Goethite, with micro-crystals of Malachite replaced crystals of Cuprite. The underside of the specimen also shows crystals of Azurite with similarly replaced Cuprite crystals, and silky areas of Malachite crystals.
