A pleasing specimen of Baryte from the famous Iron mining area of Frizington, Cumbria. The Baryte forms an elongated group of intergrown tabular crystals measuring to an average of 2.5cm. The crystal faces have great luster with a light beige colouration, and gemmy areas at the edges of the crystals. The Baryte crystals have formed on a colourless druse of small Calcite crystals, which cover a ferruginous Dolomite matrix.
