A fine crystal specimen of Baryte from the Iron mining area of Egremont, Cumberland. A specimen displaying the progressive zonal growth of the Baryte. Showing a gemmy-translucent central blue-green tinted zone, followed with a thin band of entrapped reddish Hematite and an alternating zone on the truncated crystal edges. The crystal is sharply terminated, with a further crystal of Baryte grown out from the main crystal at an oblique angle. A matrix of red-brown hematite completes the specimen.
