A fab specimen of west Cumbria Baryte from the Frizington mining area. Beautiful sharp lustrous crystals of classic Baryte measuring to 2.5cm displaying the chisel crystal form so characteristically found in the area. Crystals of Baryte at various orientations are pleasingly formed over the display area of the specimen. The colour of the Baryte is from white to colourless, with edge tinted pink by included particles of Hematite. Yellow-creamy druse of saddle shaped Dolomite crystals forms the matrix, with uncommon for the area micro-crystals of brass-yellow Chalcopyrite, and micro-crystals of nail-head Calcite. A super Baryte specimen from west Cumbria.
