An excellent example of Baryte from the Halsbrucke mining area in Germany. The Baryte forms an open radiating group of sub-parallel tabular crystals 8.3cm by 7.5cm. The colour is from opaque white to transparent on the crystal edges, with a bright luster reflecting from the many crystal faces. The Baryte has formed on a small plate of light lilac cubic crystals of Fluorite individually to 0.9cm. The underside of the specimen also has a 4cm by 4cm area coated with small crystals of creamy translucent Calcite.
