A fantastic Calcite crystal specimen from the Redburn (Fluorspar) mine, Weardale, Co. Durham. The specimen is the best one we have had from the mine in a long time. This incredible specimen displays great over all form, with Calcite crystals showing a pseudo-hexagonal platy habit in various orientations over the specimen. The Calcite crystals measuring to 3.2cm are lustrous white to translucent colourless at the edges. A matrix of pyramidal Quartz crystals over grown by a secondary druse of Quartz admirably supports the Calcite Crystals.
