Spheres and hemispheres of light tan Calcite richly adorne this large specimen from the famous Trepca area in Kosovo. The silky Calcite has formed on all but two sides of the specimen, displaying well from front or rear. The large rounded development of the Calcite to over 3.5cm, is preceded by scattered and aggregated creamy Calcite crystal to 0.5cm with nail head terminations. White pearly saddle shaped crystals of Dolomite form a covering on which the Calcite has grown. All of the above minerals have grown on a matrix of colourless drusy Quartz crystals, with a central core of metallic yellow Pyrite and minor brownish Sphalerite. A large and funky display specimen of Calcite from this classic Kosovo location.
