Excellent crystals of lustrous Calcite from the Blackdene Mine, are richly intergrown on characteristic Fluorite from this mine. The crystals of Calcite are a translucent white measuring to 1.7cm, with a lenticular habit. Crystals of Calcite have formed on gemmy to translucent purple cubic Fluorite. The reverse and two edges of the specimen are also partly covered in crystals of Calcite. The matrix is a white to translucent pastel green Fluorite. A classic form of Calcite from this now closed mine.
