A most characteristic specimen of stacked habit Calcite crystals on Fluorite, from the Cambokeels Mine, Weardale, Co. Durham. Crystals of Calcite are sharply formed three faces shallow pyramidal (lenticular), measuring to 2cm. The stacked growth crystals of Calcite are translucent to opaque white on a part crystal of Fluorite, minor Galena. There is chipping apparent to some Calcite crystals, but is still a fine example of the crystal habit from this closed Fluorspar Mine.
