A great specimen of platy Calcite crystals on Quartz with Dolomite, a very characteristic mineral combination from Wheal Friendship, Tavistock, Devon. Crystals of white Calcite display a stacked habit crystals becoming progressively smaller in a pyramid style. The crystals of Calcite have formed on creamy saddle shaped druse of Dolomite. A matrix of prismatic Quartz crystals measuring to 4cm display white phantoms, and gemmy colourless terminations. Crystals of Quartz are here and there included by green Chlorite. A fine combination specimen much sought after from this Devonshire Mine and comes with a label stating the specimen is from the J. Ruskin collection (1819-1900).
