A very gemmy lustrous twinned crystal of Calcite from the classic Iron mining area of Egremont, Cumbria, England. The twinned crystal of Calcite was in the Lindsay Greenbank Collection, via the Cambridge Museum Collection. The Calcite crystal is colourless with striations on the specimen that display the orientation of the three intersecting pyramid faces to both twins, with an over triangular aspect to the specimen. A small amount of red-brown Hematite is seen on the contact area on the back of the specimen. An excellent gemmy Calcite from the area.
