ID: CC2100

A rare and rich specimen of Calomel from the Type location area of Landsberg, Germany. The Calomel is seen as a waxy grey crystalline area measuring 2.6 x 1.3 cm. A cavity within the Calomel aggregate is lined with intergrown micro-crystals. The Calomel has grown on a contrasting crystal druse of ruby red Cinnabar. The matrix for the two minerals is light rusty brown gossan shot through with veinlets of Quartz, with further veinlets of Cinnabar. A superb specimen of a rare mineral from the location.
