Capped Quartz

ID: CC4927

The Virtuous Lady Mine is well known amongst British mineral collectors as a location for specimens of "Capped Quartz" The specimen we have displays the capped habit to advantage. The caps have formed as a result of a thin zone of Clay between the under lying quartz crystal and the cap of Quartz. A great specimen from this probable Elizabethan mine
