A superb Cassiterite specimen, donated by William Vaux to the Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences, Pennsylvania. Highly lustrous Cassiterite crystals are inter-grown, richly encrusting the matrix. The crystals are sharply formed, measuring to 1.5cm, on a matrix of buff coloured Feldspar with granular Cassiterite. There is minor damage to some crystals. This is a historical specimen dating from pre 1900s - a classic specimen from one of Australia's premier locations for Cassiterite specimens.
