Cassiterite

ID: CC3272

A specimen from the ancient Great Work Mine probably at work in at least 16th century, reputed to be a very rich mine in its early years. The specimen of Cassiterite we have displays many sharply formed crystals measuring to 0.5cm richly covering the matrix. Crystals of Cassiterite are very lustrous with a deep brown to yellow brown colour. A classic Cassiterite from one of Cornwall's oldest mines.
