A tremendous combination specimen from the classic Panasqueira Mine, Portugal. The specimen is formed by a fine single crystal of gemmy Quartz measuring to 9cm tall, which hosts the other species. The Quartz has a sharp glassy termination and the prism faces display striations perpendicular to the C-axis. A small Quartz crystal is found on one face of the larger Quartz. The dominant feature of the specimen is the well formed lustrous black Cassiterite crystals, clustered in groups measuring to 3.4cm. The Quartz also hosts well formed metallic silver blades of Arsenopyrite, deeply striated measuring to 2.5cm. A white translucent 1.3cm radial spray of probable Fluorapatite is seen just below a ridge of Cassiterite crystals. Also on the specimen are rounded crystals of translucent white Calcite, and chalky white bladed Feldspar. The specimen displays beautifully in the upright position, exhibiting the excellent combination of minerals present from this famed location.
