A varied selection of six specimens of Cassiterite, in the form of “Toad’s Eye” tin from an unprovenanced locality in Cornwall.  “Toad’s Eye” tin is an unusual form of Cassiterite, similar in structure to “wood tin” in its banded, fibrous habit, but forming rounded botryoidal nodules; hence its allusion to a toad’s eye.  The six pieces offered here contain a black-brown botryoidal nodule; a near spherical black-brown nodule; two botryoidal tan thumbnail groups and two curved ribs showing fine acicular crystals.  This selection forms a great representation of this rarer form of Cassiterite.
