Cassiterite Var. Wood Tin (Toads Eye Wood Tin)

Good small cabinet display of a classic Cornish Cassiterite specimen of the variety known as Toads Eye Wood Tin. The similarity of the reniform structure of this specimen to its namesake is quite obvious on close examination. An interesting specimen that includes a rare John Mawe label on the rear, a well known London mineral dealer of the late 1700s to early 1800s.
