This rich specimen of Cuprite is from a mine in the vicinity of Liskeard in Cornwall and is accompanied with an old German label of Dr Theodor Schuchardt, numbered 9848, with this same number glued to the specimen.  The specimen also has neatly attached, three other numbers, each on different coloured paper and all obviously old.  This large miniature is composed entirely of translucent claret-red equant Cuprite crystals mixed with angular shards of milky Quartz and rich areas of beautifully crystallised Native Copper. This a superb and historic specimen rich in fine dodecahedral Cuprite crystals and Native Copper, occurring as equant and dendritic crystalline forms.
