Fluorite with Chalcopyrite
ID:
CC10048
Reasonably gemmy to translucent, aquamarine-green tinted cuboctahedral Fluorite crystals form an attractive group with overgrowths of later-stage brassy golden Chalcopyrite crystals. This large miniature is from the Luise mine at Rottleberode, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Although all crystals are incomplete (hence the greatly reduced price), it is a good representative specimen from this ancient German Fluorite mine. Nestling between the Fluorite crystals are clusters of chocolate brown rhombic Siderite, a characteristic species for this locality. The specimen comes with two older labels.
