A pleasing small cabinet specimen composed entirely of Chalcopyrite, displaying many crystallised faces and capped with two near-complete Chalcopyrite crystals, both of about 1.7 cm across. Most of the crystal faces exhibit distinct chevroned growth patterns, all with an attractive mellow, slightly tarnished, brassy patina and a little iridescence. From Fowey Consols mine at Tywardreath in the St Austell mining district of Cornwall, this was one of the richest and deepest copper mines in the county. This attractive specimen is accompanied with three labels, one from the collection of Col. G.T.G. Williams of Bodmin, Cornwall, a member of the famous Williams family who owned many important Cornish mines.
