Probably more than fifty deep cherry-red Xanthoconite crystals are scattered across the 6 x 3 cm surface of a Quartz and Calcite greyish-white matrix. This silver-arsenic sulphosalt forms sub-mm gemmy crystals in many monoclinic habits ranging from acicular to tabular. Proustite crystals are scattered across the surface, some of which flash brilliant scarlet-red. A splendid and rich specimen from Xanthoconite’s type locality at the Himmelfahrt mine at Buchholz in Saxony, Germany.
