Clean, colourless, water-clear Calcite crystals cover a gently concave thin plate of fawn limestone with a pinkish-orange and pale apple-green base. The Calcite crystals are between 0.5 and 1 cm diameter, but one large 2.5 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm crystal dominates.  This single crystal is completely gemmy and flawless with complex crystal faces and a small, but probable twinning plane, indicated by a tiny re-entrant angle.  All the Calcite crystals have a bright glassy lustre making a delightful specimen from the area around Pau in Aquitaine, France.
