A superb single crystal of gemmy Smoky Quartz measuring to 10.6 cm tall from Tujetsch in the Voderrhein Valley of Switzerland.  The ex. matrix crystal has an unusual habit in that the prism has a regular six-fold geometry, albeit a little asymmetric, yet the termination is of transitional habit with four dominant faces set at 90 degrees to each other, with two opposite smaller faces bisecting the quartered faces.  The entire crystal is of exceptional gem quality transparency, providing near perfect optical quality.  A delightful example of Alpine Quartz from Switzerland.
