Equant, mirror-bright, metallic silver crystals of the copper-cobalt sulphide Carrollite are scattered over a bed of glistening Quartz crystals to 3 mm and framed against a backdrop of rhombohedral Calcite crystals to 1.6 cm on edge. The Carrollite occurs as nine individual crystals, all well-developed and of equal high quality, the largest of which measures 7 x 7 x 5 mm. In addition to these is an intergrown group of three crystals measuring 2 cm across. The central crystal is the largest and is approximately 1.3 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm. An excellent example of this interesting and aesthetic species.
