A particularly well crystallized, arborescent Native Copper from the Medieval copper and silver workings around Rudabánya in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary. This extensive stratiform deposit extends over about 10 km and in addition to Cu and Ag exploited iron, lead and zinc mineralisation. The Native Copper forms a flattened arborescent array of branches each built-up from successive intergrown copper crystals and has a most attractive light to dark copper patina. This has likely grown in within a joint or fracture plane, so forming as a two dimensional specimen averaging 3 to 4 mm thick.
