A lovely miniature of well-formed gemmy to translucent Baryte crystals measuring to 1.5 cm from Pöhla in the Schwarzenberg District of Saxony, Germany. Although labelled only as Pöhla, it is most likely from the Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine, formerly worked for uranium. The Baryte forms chisel terminations and is a lustrous golden amber. The crystals sit on a strong yet delicate looking grid of naturally etched, paper-thin Quartz plates forming a reticulated horizontal and vertical array. It is a fine example of near-gem quality Baryte from Pöhla.
