A magnificent thick prismatic Beryl crystal, variety Aquamarine, from Gilgit, Northern Areas, Pakistan with a little attached Albite feldspar at its base.  This semi-transparent cornflower-blue hexagonal crystal has mirror-smooth prism faces and a flat pinacoid termination, the latter displaying subtle growth development patterns as complexly inter-meshed hexagonal outlines.  Some small modified bevelled faces {212} are developed between the prism and pinacoid and the top 1.5 to 2 cm becomes increasingly gemmy.  Very minor bruising exists on the occasional edge but is not readily visible.  A beautiful specimen, perfect for display.
