The Ojuela mine at Mapimà in Durango, Mexico is very well known for its specimens of Wulfenite on Mimetite and this specimen is an exceptional example. The square tabular blades of mustard-lemon-yellow Wulfenite attain 1.5 x 1.2 x 0.2 cm and display superbly against the undulating surface of botryoidal zingy-apple-green Mimetite. Scattered between the Wulfenite crystals are tiny colourless platy crystals that appear to be a different generation and naturally corroded habit of Wulfenite, certainly worthy of more study. Please note the largest Wulfenite crystal has one corner missing, but this does not detract from the specimen’s aesthetic.
