A heavy, yet highly porous and cellular Quartz matrix has two shallow vugs on top, roughly 6 x 3 cm and 2 x 1 cm in area and completely lined with acid lime-green Pyromorphite crystals, each to about 3 to 4 mm across.  From the mines around Asprières in the department of Aveyron, France, the Pyromorphite forms curved barrel-shaped crystals with a bright glassy lustre. The matrix is shot through with granular Pyromorphite and small crystal-lined vugs.  A most attractive specimen from Asprières.
