A nest of lustrous, light bronzed-tan Pyromorphite crystals in sub-parallel growth sits against a matrix of inter-grown prismatic Quartz crystals from the Black Pine mine in the John Long Mountains of Montana, USA.  Pyromorphite specimens from this mine are seldom seen in collections, a mine more commonly associated with copper phosphates such as Veszelyite.  The Pyromorphite forms long acicular crystals up to 1.5 cm in a jumbled tangle over an area of 5.7 x 2.5 cm, to one side of the milky Quartz bed.
