PYROMORPHITE

ID: CC12153
A superb miniature of Pyromorphite from the Les Farges Mine at Ussel, Corr├Ęze, Limousin, France.  This specimen once more demonstrates the seemingly endless range in specimen habit and colour combinations from this classic French locality.  Densely covering the top surface of a limonitic matrix, hoppered, oil-grass-green Pyromorphite crystals to 10 x 4 mm, some with yellowish-mustard tips, form a highly lustrous divergent group of crystals. Towards one side of the specimen, the crystals change to a vibrant brilliant grass-green with solid terminations (i.e. not hoppered), with some grading to deep olive green with outward growths of secondary Pyromorphite.  A highly aesthetic specimen from Les Farges.
