A fine miniature Amethyst sceptre from the geologically fascinating mining area around the town of Banská Štiavnica in west-central Slovakia. The region contains both base and precious metals which are hosted in a quite amazing variety of ore body types including vein systems, skarns, stockworks and replacement deposits. The delicate lilac Quartz Sceptre varies in clarity from gemmy to translucent. It measures 4.8 cm tall with its base attached to a cross of white sucrosic Quartz. This specimen is made even more appealing by an unusual double termination created by a recessed hopper with internal stepped crystallised Quartz Amethyst faces.
