ID: CC12506
A superb twinned crystal of highly lustrous black Cassiterite measuring to 2.4 cm from Horni Slavkov in the Karlovy Vary Region of Bohemia, Czech Republic. Although a polymetallic mining district, one of the principle deposits was a tin-tungsten ore body which produced spectacular specimens of Cassiterite. This ex-matrix twinned pair form two perfect diverging Cassiterite crystals of approximately 2 and 1.5 cm tall, each pointing outwards like a fiendish pair of stubby horns! Each crystal is striated parallel towards the terminations and the dominant re-entrant angle separating the crystals exemplifies the twinning perfectly for display.
