A magnificent intergrown group of lustrous cinnamon-brown Grossular Garnet crystals, of the variety Hessonite, from Žulová in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. The crystals measure to 3 cm and are opaque with a glassy texture and mirror like lustre. The crystal form is complex, with recognisable faces being the rhombic dodecahedron and the deltoidal icositetrahedron (24 kite-shaped faces) which combine to form complex whole crystals. Modifications to the prism edges cause the crystals to look and feel slippery, polished and rounded, giving the specimen great tactile appeal. A tremendous Grossular Garnet from Žulová.
