Lustrous, deep azure-blue platy crystals of Linarite line the rims of two vugs in a block or iron-stained vein Quartz with minor emerald-green Malachite and mustard-yellow Pyromorphite. The specimen is recorded as from Roughton Gill mine in the Caldbeck Fells of Cumbria, England, but such old specimens are more likely from the nearby Red Gill mine. The Linarite crystals are up to 5 mm across and have a bright glassy lustre. A good Linarite from this classic locality in the Caldbeck Fells, where, sadly, collecting is no longer permitted.
