ID: CC12718
A very rich and beautifully crystallised example of the magnesium borate, Boracite, from Boulby mine at Loftus in North Yorkshire, England. Boulby mine is famous for being the deepest mine in Europe at around 1100 m and extends out under the North Sea. This rich specimen has a mixture of equant, gemmy, pale sky-blue Boracite crystals of 1 to 2 mm forming pseudo-cubic and modified-cubic habits and overgrow an earlier layer of pale gemmy green crystals of similar habits.
