Fluorite (faceted)

ID: CC12763
Many collectors of Weardale Fluorite like to include a selection of faceted stones to sit next to specimens from the same mines.  This lovely example is of a bluish emerald-green Fluorite from Frazer's Hush mine near to Rookhope in County Durham, England, somewhat unusual as green is relatively uncommon at this mine.  The Fluorite has a truncated trilliant cut with a flat table; the stone is essentially gemmy with a few feathered inclusions.  It fluoresces bright lavender blue under LWUV and weights 4.40 carats.
